Song Sung Blue - The Documentary

Pasta with garlic olive oil, Clarabelle Romero's crushed red chile and Parmesan Reggiano. Song Sung Blue, 2008, a documentary film directed by Greg Kohs. The film follows Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed as the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder. This documentary leading to a dramatic film release years later reminded me of a similar pair of films. Marwencol, a 2010 documentary, explores the life and work of artist and photographer Mark Hogancamp. It was directed by Jeff Malmberg. Eight years later Welcome to Marwen was released, a dramatic film directed by Robert Zemeckis. The consensus is that Welcome to Marwen didn't tell the story as well as the documentary. I haven't seen the 2025 Song Sung Blue. It was described by New York Times Critic Jeanette Catsoulis as a "toe-tapping weepie." Weepies aren't my cup of tea.
